Lock Your Doors!
I’ve heard of five different vehicles being broken into tonight, maybe just cars that had their doors unlocked. Please keep an eye out for the criminals who are doing this, but be careful!

Our vehicle was stolen from our driveway on Christmas Eve by 2- 14 year old boys here in Livingston Trace. The police stated that there was a report of 10 total car break-ins that night in this neighborhood. The night on the 1st when you made this post my daughter did notice 3 suspicious men walking down the street at night wearing sunglasses and one was carrying a handbag. I was later told that a vehicle was broken into by a neighbor.
Our vehicle was recovered…..in the middle of a creek and has water over the roof. It is still there… I was totally shocked when I found out these were kids that did this. I cant believe 14 year olds had nothing better to do on Christmas Eve than break into cars/steal cars. Very Sad…. So I would DEFINATELY LOCK MY DOORS and keep a look out for our neighbors vehicles too when we are out at night.
A lady in a white car (forgot her name) stopped and spoke to me and my neighbor about you, I think, on NYE. I think she was talking about you because she mentioned a car being stolen, not just being broken in to. She was driving around warning people to lock their doors.
Two guys in a pickup stopped and talked to me on Christmas Eve and told me that their truck had been robbed.
This is really a shame. Apparently, there has been a rash of robberies all around this area lately.
Several cars were broken into. Mine was one of them. The also broke into a house about 4/5 houses down from me. My neighbors saw 2 younger teenagers walking out of my neighbors driveway wearing dark hooded sweatshirts. They went to 2 other subdivisions the same night. The police said they caught a guy Friday of last week and think he is connected to the burglaries that happened here. They said they were going to question him on Monday. I have not heard anything since. They don’t think it is anyone from our subdivision. I did see a cop patrolling the other night. It really is a shame though. And I hope they catch whoever has done this.
I know for sure that they caught one of the teens that stole our car, he stole a car from another neighborhood and got caught then confessed to stealing ours. Even told the cops where to find our car. They cop said that they have a warrent out for the other guy. They were both minors. I cant believe that they would come back less than a week later and break into more cars/house. I didnt think that they were related but I guess if you are stupid enough to steal then they could be stupid enough to do it in the same place. The cop said that the one they caught lives near here and he has been dealing with him for years. He said they were using that over the counter fake cocaine called Cloud 9 but is sold as “bath salt”. I saw it on the news the other day. Dont know why they would sell anything like that anyway. I cant believe they broke into a house too. That scares me more.
Glad to know a cop was patrolling..Hope they keep it up!
I’m a police officer and I can tell you from experience that most vehicle burglaries occur at night and the cars are left unlocked. It’s a crime of opportunity and makes no noise. They are very often done by teens who live close by and they just walk back home with their take.
One of the keys to reduce this type of crime is to report EVERYTHING that looks suspicious to LPSO. If you are home during the day and there is a vehicle driving around slowly, call the police. If there are teens walking with hoods and BAGS, call the police!!! They probably won’t find the car/kids, but they will come ride the neighborhood which the thieves might see and it could deter the future crime.
The second biggest thing I would say is to know your neighbors! Know what cars they drive and who shouldn’t be around. Especially if you are home when no one else is during the day. Take a few minutes out of your day and look around outside. You’ll be amazed at the delivery trucks, grass cutters, etc that you see. On a few occaisions I’ve seen pickups ridding around with no apparent destination. This activity is worthy of a call to the police.
And here I thought I was the only one. On NYE I accidentally left my wife’s car unlocked overnight. The next day I saw someone had gone through everything. Odd thing is, nothing was taken. There was a digital camera and an iPod dock that they had obviously looked at, but didn’t take.
