$30,000+ per year landscaping?

My neighbor, myself, and our boys went to the back lake to hit some golf balls this afternoon.  After we were done, we went for a walk around the lake.  I couldn’t help but take a picture of this…

That’s pathetic. Also, I would also like to add that the landscaping that was added to the front entrance with the border grass and knock out roses are some of the easiest plants to maintain. I can’t imagine it would cost that much to take care of those plants.

I agree,I think this is someones brother who got this landscaping job.We are paying way to much for this little bit of work.

OMG I could not agree with you guys more. We live at 26475 Avoyelles, check out the ditch next to our house! We were told when we moved in it would be maintained, fully dug (because it is not) and it is full of construction trash, trees, weeds, mosquitoes, you name it. We have BEGGED the Parish and the HOA to clean it up. We cannot mow it or weed eat it because the shrubbery is so dense! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I also think that we may be paying too much for the grounds care being provided. If at all possible, could someone post up the specifics of what the landscaping crew is responsible for? If we had this information we may be able to get some bids from other contractors and free up some funds for other areas of improvement.

      Regards,
      RPR

It’s hard to believe that it costs $30,000 a year to mow, weedeat, and edge grass 8 months out of the year. I wonder who got the contract for this and if they have any affiliation with people managing our homeowners association.

    Hey guys!
I have a friend that does grass cutting and one that does landscaping. I could see how much they’d be willing to charge to upkeep everything. My friend did my landscaping and did a really good job. He was reasonable for my yard, so I don’t see why keeping up the plants we have would cost much. If anyone interested send me an email mdauenhauer1@cox.net and I can talk to them.
